They are led by experienced guides who have a long experience of driving on the track and off the track in the desert and in the mountains.
Equipment
Baggage principal: a soft travel bag, or backpack because it's easy to load into vehicles or pack animals (bags are to be avoided).

Sleeping
(We provide mattresses for the night but never sleeping bag)
In winter, from late November to late February, the nights are cold: in the range of 5 degrees and sometimes below 0 °. You will have a good duvet.
Shoes
For hiking, take shoes that are already made at your feet. Rôdez them before departure if they are new (bulbs at the beginning of the trip!). Choose shoes "bush" or mid-mountain hiking, but thick flexible soles and uppers rising, canvas or Goretex. Remember to take another pair to relax at the bivouac, "jogging" or sneakers or open shoes, which are more pleasant summer with temperature. Prefer socks wool or cotton, not synthetic fabrics.
Clothes
(Warning, you are going to travel in Muslim lands. We ask that you in all cases to dress well)
The Cotton is strongly recommended, the synthetic is less comfortable to wear because of the heat.
Pull and doudoune: from 1 November until March, you need a good doudoune. It may be replaced by a big pull coupled with a K-way or fur polar wind breakers. In April and October, a good enough pull, but the K-way is sometimes necessary as a windbreak.

Shirts / T-shirts: 2 or preferably 3 shirts with long sleeves to avoid sunburn. No synthetic, cotton only. The tee-shirt is also recommended, except for sunburn.
Survêtement: bivouac for a tracksuit sport is useful in the middle of winter (especially at night when it is very cold, sleep while dressed).
The chèche: it is a piece of cotton fabric (approximately 5 m long) that cover the desert nomads. You can find locally. It is useful as a scarf, as head covering, and it protects from wind and sand. Failing that, take whatever you want to cover you. The US cap visor is very widespread practice, but shows a little in the landscape in our view ...
